I'm Jan and I'm the person behind Sacks-n-Stories. I am a mum of 2 and I work full-time in a Primary School Nursery so I know what's required of a P.E. bag. I sew in the evenings and weekends on my dinning table. I've always been a crafter and I never intended starting a business! It's a hobby that has snowballed by recommendation and word of mouth.

You will not find my items on any other site so please bookmark me if you like what you see and wish to return.
My bags are sewn by myself all from new materials. My measurements and design of bag have been refined over the years. I LOVE fabric and working with good quality fabrics like Laura Ashley, Skopos and Prestigious. I find Ikea fabrics are great to work with in contemporary designs
As a qualified Nursery Nurse of 30 years I have been using drawstring bags for keeping my teaching resources in for years as a simple space saving storage idea. Teaching resource sacks were given a bigger focus by Neil Griffiths who came up with the term ‘story sack’ but they have been around for years.

The original personalised PE pump bag was created 13 years ago when my eldest daughter started nursery. Every year since there has been ‘new’ gym bag …Brownie bag...ballet bag…karate bag…music lesson bag (that dreaded recorder!). I quickly found that keeping all the items the children needed for their activities in drawstring bags-hanging with the coats was the easiest way to keep organised! We even have one for ‘odd socks’!

Creating a personalised laundry bag was a great unique birthday party gift for the children to give their friends when they were young and now we are giving them as university gifts as those children are now leaving home!

For a new baby gift I like to give a storage sack to co-ordinate with the nursery and personalise it with baby’s name. The nesting instinct in mums-to-be means they like to have co-ordinating accessories for the arrival's nursery especially if it has their child's name on it.My bags are also a great gift if the baby has an unusual name or spelling
.

I created my christening gift nursery rhyme sack to give a set of rhyme finger puppets in and a book-Singing nursery rhymes are going out of fashion and it’s so vital for early speech development.

Themed fabric bags are great for dressing up and role play storage. Hang them for the children to select who they want to be today! Keeps all the bits and bobs in one place ready for the next princess or astronaut to come along

I have many repeat customers and just look at my comments!!

It’s flattering when other sellers copy my photos, ideas and imitate my items but after taking advice all listings now carry the sacks-n-stories copy-write.

I love to hear from people and help with special requests.
 Where ever possible
Jan
