Hi my name is Jan and I'm the person behind Sacks-n-Stories.

I've been a qualified NNEB nursery nurse for over 35+ years working mostly in education. I have been trading for over 15 years selling teaching resources but after a break I'm back with my new website. I have more ideas and items than I have time to make. All my bags are sewn by myself from new material. My measurements and design of bag have been refined over the years. I LOVE fabric and working with good quality fabrics like Laura Ashley and Prestigious.
I have been using drawstring bags for keeping my teaching resources in for years as a simple space saving storage idea. Teaching resource sacks were given a bigger focus by Neil Griffiths who came up with the term ‘Story Sack’ but for classroom storage they have been around for years.

The original personalised PE pump bag was created 20 years ago when my eldest daughter started nursery. Every year since there has been ‘new’ gym bag …Brownie bag...ballet bag…karate bag…music lesson bag (that dreaded recorder!). I quickly found that keeping all the items the children needed for their activities in drawstring bags, hanging with the coats was the easiest way to keep organised! We even have one for ‘odd socks’!

Creating a personalised laundry bag was a great unique birthday party gift for the children to give their friends when they were young and now we are giving them as university gifts as those children are now leaving home!

For a new baby gift I like to give a storage sack to co-ordinate with the nursery and personalise it with baby’s name. The nesting instinct in mums-to-be means they like the nursery to co-ordinate so I add matching bunting.

Themed fabric bags are great for dressing up and role play storage. Hang them for the children to select who they want to be today! Keeps all the bits and bobs in one place ready for the next princess or astronaut to come along

I love to hear from people and help with special requests.

 Where ever possible

Jan
